Safe Hair

Peace

I mentioned this last month, but more has transpired.... I went to court last month and was attacked because of my headwrap. I wear it ALL the time when I leave the house. When I go into certain venues, I wear like a Muslim in order to keep people from making assumptions that don’t work for me. i.e. Most folks in Atlanta never heard of 5%ers or the Nation of Gods and Earths. I’m not trying to educate folks when I have business to conduct and I don’t need key people thinking I’m a cult supporting crackpot. Folks can think I’m a Muslim all they want.

I assumed that because I was portraying myself as a religious person (my nation is not religious so I was lying without speaking, and I’m OK with that), folks would not religiously persecute me by forcing me to remove my head covering. I was wrong. The Atlanta court system violated my right to religious expression and forcibly removed my head wrap.

This morning I had to go back. I could do 1 of 3 things…. I could go in there and demand that they acquiesce to my needs. I could compromise my values and allow Yakub’s world manifest to rule the day. Or I could make a compromise that satisfies both parties…..

A Hairnet! It allows me to maintain my 3/4ths and keeps me out of jail.

http://www.ajc.com/news/gwinnett/muslim-womans-headscarf-incident-776839.html

These people here do not play. Especially if you’re Original. I was herded like cattle and reprimanded because I was required to appear to defend myself against an accident that wasn’t my fault. My question is why? A head wrap ain’t that serious. They don’t go wig snatching in court rooms. If I could hide something in my head wrap, I could hide it under a wig or a big weave. So the thinking is flawed. If you check the above links, one says that they were to be sued for their discriminatory policies. And it is discriminatory.

So to my righteous sisters, if you want to maintain your modesty in court and for some reason can’t rock a wig because you locs are too long, wear a headwrap that matches the color of your hair.

1: Actual Fact/Wolf Moon

Peace….

Equality Builds Equality through Understanding of Culture. Conversely, InEquality Destructively breeds inequality through mis-Understanding of Culture.

It is a given that the 5% culture will be misunderstood by the masses for many reasons. (a) we are so small, that many have never heard of us, (b) folks mistrust that which they don’t understand (c) folks don’t want to put in the effort of learning something new if it doesn’t benefit them and (d) for some reason, folks take it as a personal insult if others live differently than they do.

Minorities know the rules and regulations of the majority culture. You have to in order to negotiate it. The converse is not always the same. I bare witness that some majorities don’t even acknowledge different cultures. i.e. “2 Americas.” Now in some cases it comes from lack of exposure. In others scenarios its that they don’t care. I will wager that most are due to some combination of both.

The point of this build is to be mindful to meet people where they are and don’t expect them to join you on your journey. They have their own. As a member of my beloved Nation I strive to bring truth… factual information... to the masses. But if I recognize that folks aren’t interested, I move on. No insults. No hard feelings. I strive to build with people in equality… on their level and with respect… and I expect the same back. Equality builds Equality. Everyone has to be mindful of all the Cultures that may be included or don’t build. Is it not everyone’s responsibility to do the knowledge before they speak? But if folks come into the conversation with misinformation and negative pre-conceived ideas then nothing good will come forth from that interaction.

I used to work for this colored man in the 90’s. During my tenure with him, Jerry Garcia died. I knew he was a musician, though I was unfamiliar with his music. The name “The Grateful Dead” has been bandied around enough that I have a small level of familiarity with it. But trust me I had never purposefully listened to one of their songs. I actually was more familiar with his name because of Ben & Jerry’s ‘Cherries Garcia’ ice cream. He on the other hand, in 1994 or so, had never heard of Barry White? This isn’t the sole example. White folks still want to touch my hair (when I used to wear it out), seem surprised that I don’t wash it every day, assume I listen to hip hop (I do) but are surprised that I also listen to country and western. It is a big assumption that I was born to a teenaged uneducated mother who had other children with whom I don’t share fathers or last names. Also untrue. Even among my own people it is assumed that I am a unmarried, diabetic and hypertensive woman with 6 jobs and a bunch of grown children, possibly grandchildren.

Now what that all this have to do with the January Wolf moon? Wolves can be ferocious. But the ferocity comes from them moving in packs. 1 wolf against 1 person is a more even battle than a pack of wolves against 1 person. When you are part of the prevalent culture, seek not to viciously attack another’s way of life. Most people have some eclecticism within their lives and would not like to be attacked because of its expression.

I get a lot of drama because I wear my head wrapped abroad. Folks will call me a Muslim. I notice that when I correct them they become first aggravated, then combative. And it’s not like I’m all up and in their faces. I will say, politely, and occasional with a smile, “No. I’m not a Muslim.” And leave it at that. I don’t feel the need to build with everyone especially to my detriment. And southern folks use the word of ‘hospitality’, to shield their nosiness. This is when folks become belligerent and inform me that I am mistaken. And make that bit of Knowledge Born. All women who wrap their heads are Muslims and that’s that. Changing the paradigm makes them uncomfortable. And it is never my goal to make people comfortable.

So be mindful when you are interacting with folks, which side of the border are you coming from. And always let Peace (Pacific) reign.

Odor Controller

Sweating is your body’s mechanism to cool down. The average person has about 2.6 million sweat glands, and sweat glands come in two types: eccrine (hands, feet) and apocrine. Apocrine glands are found in your arm pits and in your genital area. The apocrine glands usually end in hair follicles and become active during puberty. This is why babies tend to not be funky. The sweat produced by the apocrine glands contains proteins and fatty acids.

Sweat has no odor; the familiar unpleasant odor is caused by bacteria that live on our skin and hair. These bacteria metabolize the proteins and fatty acids from our apocrine sweat, causing body odor.

The difference between deodorants and antiperspirants is; deodorants deal with the smell by neutralizing it and by killing the bacteria that metabolize the proteins and fatty acids, while antiperspirants try to prevent sweating by blocking the pores using aluminum. Without sweat, the bacteria cannot metabolize proteins and fatty acids that cause body odor.
Antiperspirants are products that try to prevent sweating by using aluminum. However, most antiperspirants also have a deodorizing component. So deodorants cut the smell and antiperspirants stop you from sweating. Make your choice about what you want to use. My question is where is that sweat going when blocked?

It might be a surprise to learn that the antiperspirant you use daily is in fact an over-the-counter (OTC) drug. As mentioned, Antiperspirants work by clogging, closing, or blocking the pores with aluminum salts in order to prevent the release of sweat, effectively changing the function of the body. Antiperspirants are considered to be drugs because they affect the physiology of the body.

Deodorants and antiperspirants can allegedly cause breast cancer and Alzheimer's disease. Please be mindful that men have breast too, and can get breast cancer. Benign side effects of deodorants and antiperspirants are skin irritation and allergies, but more serious dangers of deodorants can be acute dermatitis.

An alleged danger of deodorants is that they could cause Alzheimer's disease due to the fact that they contain Aluminum salts such as Aluminum Chlorhydrate (to close the pores), and that the brains of Alzheimer's patients contain high levels of toxic Aluminum. In 1993, the World Health Organization stated that there is a suspected link between Alzheimer's disease and the toxicity of Aluminum. The long term side effects of the use of Aluminum in antiperspirants might be responsible for the tangles and plaques in the brain of Alzheimer patients.

So what can we do for prevention? Some Lucky folks don’t sweat. They don’t need this build. Some folks choose to not use deodorant/antiperspirant at all. But, the people in your cipher might object to you smelling like onions. Cutting the hair from your armpits will aid in the liquid sweat retention. You could use alcohol. But that only works for a few hours. You’d need to carry some with you to freshen up. Or… You can make your own deodorant with natural products.

Precise has been making his own deodorant for the last 2.5 years and is generous enough to share his recipe.

Peace,

This is one of those health related subjects that most people take for granted. Underarm deodorant. Really? Yeah! Like most other things you have to be mindful of the ingredients of your deodorant/antiperspirant or you might find yourself on the wrong side of a bad reaction. Read on if you want to find out how this can affect or has already affected you. Don't be too alarmed though, as I'm going to include a solution that is both cost effective and easy to prepare all by yourself.

Now on the surface you might ask yourself, "What could possibly be wrong with deodorant?" Well, people are different and different body chemistry could cause one person to have an allergic reaction to something that test subjects or even the average person does not. You ultimately have to find out what works for you. I remember my first experience with deodorant (Speed Stick) as a child and got a bad rash around my armpits. After that I tried various products until I found one that didn't burn. Then I got the nasty orange ring on my Tee-Shirts. After that I tried the "clear" gels. Didn't notice any particular problems with that so
that's what I used until I met my Earth many years later. She told me about one particular ingredient in deodorants that appears to cause many people problems. ALUMINUM!

Aluminum is a natural element (metal) and is one of the key ingredients in antiperspirant. Aluminum crystals are used as a deodorizer. In some people there seems to be an allergic response and can cause various health issues ranging from Kidney problems to Breast Cancer to Alzheimer's Disease. Research on whether Aluminum in antiperspirants can cause these problems is still inconclusive. Either way, knowing the potential risk the ingredients in both antiperspirants and deodorants can cause, got me looking into alternatives. I went through the Internet and found several dozen recipes for DIY underarm deodorants. From those I chose one that satisfied my own personal needs.

Here is the recipe for the deodorant I make:

Below is a picture of the different things you'll need. (D1) Coconut Oil, Corn Starch, Baking Soda, Scented Natural Oil, Cocoa Butter & Tee Tree Oil.

Start out with 1/2 cup of Backing Soda and 1/2 cup of Corn Starch (D2) Baking Soda works as a deodorizer and the Corn Starch works as an antiperspirant.

Then put in 1/4 cup of pure Cocoa Butter (D3) Cocoa Butter is a natural skin moisturizer

Next, put in a few drops of your favorite Natural oil (the one I use is called "Earth") (D4)

Next, put in about 10 drops of Tea Tree Oil (D5) Tee Tree Oil is a natural anti fungal, disinfectant and antiseptic. This makes Tee Tree Oil a great odor fighter.

The last ingredient is the most difficult to get the right amount. Start out with a tablespoon of coconut oil (I melt mine first). (D6) Coconut oil can be used as a deodorizer and skin conditioner.

Add some heat to the mixture. If the cocoa butter and coconut oil is enough, the mixture will turn to a thick paste. Go slowly because if you put in too much coconut oil the mixture will always be runny even in cooler ambient temperatures. Furthermore if it's too runny the coconut oil will separate and leak out of the deodorant container..... so be careful. (D7)

The coconut oil will remain solid up to about 76F degrees (D8)

Once you have a nice thick paste, put the paste in one of your old deodorant dispensers. The recipe will normally fill two of them. (D9, D10)

Put the full containers in the refrigerator for an hour or more.

Now you have deodorant to last you at least a year and if you keep your ingredients you won't need any more deodorant for a long time. It's all natural and hopefully you won't have any allergic reactions to anything in the mixture. If you do then remove that particular ingredient from the mixture and look for a substitute. My Earth has an allergy to Tee Tree Oil, so when I make hers I leave it out. With this article you now have enough info to do your own research and perhaps come up with your own healthy and safe recipe to help fight the underarm smellies.

Do I have to call Doubleday Myself?

Peace,

Frustration sparked this blog….

I have been browsing online… as you are… for a few different topics. And the internet, being as vast and as comprehensive as it is will have an answer if you ask a question. But it doesn’t always give you an answer in the perspective you look for…

Say I search for “pregnancy blog”…. and no I’m not claiming anything…. I could find hundreds of them. But add “Black” or “African American” (with or without the hyphen) the front of that same search and you come up with some utter foolishness! You get teen mom statistics, abortion statistics, ads for planned parenthood, etc. None of that ooey gooey stuff that you get without adding a clarifier. Do Black people not have happy healthy pregnancies? We must or we wouldn’t be here.

The God gave me an article for Useful Land in regards to his DIY deodorant. He said, “Post it on your blog because I couldn’t find any righteous people doing this.” I’m certain other Black and/or righteous people are doing this, and probably blogging this. But I/We can’t find it. And why is that? It's not because I haven't looked.

A few colored women’s blog that I follow, have been offered book deals for what they post on their blogs. Are the things they are posting new and unheard of? Now Cipher! Their writing is not superior to mine. (We all have spell check) Their posting frequency is relatively the same as my posting frequency. Yet they are writing books and I’m not. (And I am not saying that I want to author books.) What is up with that?

Folks would have you believe that Original people are very one dimensional. Nothing could be further from the truth. We DIY, We do fashion. We sew. We garden. We do EVERYTHING colored people do. But for some reason it just doesn’t get out there the same way. Only the gansta/ghetto/country/music stuff gets out there; like that’s all we do. The only Original blogs that I see that get major shine is the political ones. And I think that is because it gives racist white folks a place to complain to a group that they think might be listening.

Well my mother has always advocated that, “You should be the change you seek.” And that is why I keep this blog and others. Not that I am going to get a book deal, but I am making Knowledge Born that we are here, computer literate and doing thangs!

The Racism Question

Peace.

Yesterday was MLK Day. One of the things I have noticed is the bile and disrespect that MLK receives. BUT…. He gets it only from a certain demographic.

I’m not concerned about white supremacists who don’t like MLK. They are a non-issue. They don’t like anyone. I am more concerned with Original young adults who have a skewed view of the world.

I was born in God Cipher the youngest child to parents born in the mid Understanding ciphers. I had, and still have friends whose grandparents are the age of my parents. I’m really thinking that people have completely forgotten what the US was like when MLK was doing his thing. Jim Crow was no joke. My parents experienced this first hand. So when they disseminate their experiences to me, it’s not like it’s from a text book it from them directly. I get to see and listen to the fear and shame they felt at the hands of white people. And it’s not like these white people set out to hurt their feelings, but my parents experienced a lot that I hope to never go through. All their friends have the same experiences so I know it was widespread thing and not just one person’s incident. Do you realize that it was illegal for folks to marry outside their race up until 1967? Google Anti-miscegenation laws . Jim Crow laws were allowed to stay on the books until 1967 as well. So be extremely mindful that our people’s oppression was not that long ago. And you can see the evidence of racism now a days. My mother and I got into an argument this morning about ID cards. I don’t get the hoopla. If you want to vote get an ID they aren’t hard to come by and they aren’t expensive. I can’t vote without ID, nor can I be in a car with someone and the police pull us over without ID, nor can I walk down the street and the police ask for ID and I don’t have one. But she went to that place….

Now what I will say about MLK and his ilk is that Black folks wanted to end the abuse they were receiving at the hands of white folks, but weren’t completely clear regarding what they wanted or what was even feasible. It is impossible to legislate that a racist person has to have a change of heart. But you can legislate laws to protect the people they target. IMO that is all you can ask for. What the civil rights struggles did was to force white folks to partially interact with everyone. No longer could the devil discriminate on the basis of appearance and get away with it. He could on the basis of finances, of location, of education, etc. But not race.

The thing is, what the civil rights people wanted was for Original people to have the same opportunities as white folks. They did have those opportunities. But it was separate but equal. There were Black schools, and Black neighborhoods, with Black businesses (more than we have now), Black doctors, etc. It was that Black folks had to get these things from Black sources and no where else. And if you look at it from a different angle, white folks could only get their stuff from white sources as well. The ancestors did all that marching to allow their children to interact in ciphers that they couldn’t. Well they got said desires. I earned my doctorate from a white school. I currently am employed by a white company. But am I better off than my parents? They both graduated from college. My mother earned a master’s in the 70’s. That was unheard of for an Original and especially for a woman. My mother makes more retired than I do working. She lives in a white subdivision, drives an Audi and swears that all the white people in her neighborhood want to lynch her.

The problem with that is it never ‘cured’ the problem. It just made the problem go underground. I won’t even say dormant. It is now unpopular for some people to speak racism publicly. That is not a cure. That is a bandage. Not even a good bandage And I don’t have a suggestion for an answer either. Because what lies at the core of the problem is the inherent supremacy the devil feels superimposed with the inherent inadequacy Original people feel. How many times have you seen Original people feel like they made it when they have white jobs or can move into white neighborhoods, or have white friends or can patronize white establishments etc. By feeling like whiteness is synonymous with correctness will always keep Original people down.

Last night the God was watching anime and the images of the people in the movie where not Japanese but that of devils. I asked him why that was, I was thinking maybe it was marketed toward white people, but he told me it wasn’t. Makes you wonder does it not? Why do Black women permanently straighten, not temporarily, permanently straighten their hair? Why do Black people strive to wear pink lipstick, blue eye shadow all while becoming bulimic? We hate ourselves. That to me is more of a problem.

Yes we can go to their schools, but 1 + 1 = 2 wherever you go. I did both. I can bare witness, no one loves you like the Black schools do. So…..? We can eat in white establishments and not have to go to the back. We can ride anywhere on a bus. We can drink from water fountains. Ok. Well are there truly integrated schools? I went to private schools until college and the other students looked like me, though the teachers did not. And this was supposed to be elite. I have worked in a few middle and high schools and they were either or. We aren’t as integrated as you think. Some things stay separate…. Beauty salons barber shops, churches, funeral homes, schools, neighborhoods, etc. back to my initial point, it is illegal to discriminate on the basis of skin color.

We have not overcome because the overcoming was and still is all in the mind. Until both parties, Original people and devils come to that understanding, things will always be the same.

Future Actual Facts

Peace Y’all,

This is something new I’m doing for 2012. It’s deep and personal. It is my ambition to build on the Actual Facts. But not all at once. I will build on one each month in order. Follow me on this….

Actual facts are all about the Earth. As an Earth, I feel it’s important to make these degrees applicable to myself. Our Culture can be misogynistic at times and many women feel left out and get lost. I once heard another Earth say she doesn’t see herself in 120. And that is unfortunate. I see myself all up and through 120. I want to share that with other righteous women.

The personal side of this initiative is there are 13 Actual Facts in my degrees. 13 moons fall in a 365 day period. And woman who have a 28 cycle have 13 flows in a 365 day period or as this year contains, 366. So I will build on the “Moon” and also the corresponding Actual Fact. So when you see Actual fact in the subject box…. You have been warned.

My Lessons Don't Lie!

Peace.

I have been trying to blog for a minute now. I have some personal drama that is sucking up all my energy… FOR REAL! But I am gonna get on the good foot… Eventually….

I was having a build with a newborn recently… And don’t you love it when newborns just know more than you and they can’t even call for their degrees at will?.... And I said…. That I cee 120 literally rather than metaphorically. Do you know this chick thought she was gonna check… me? Really?

Yes I am aware that some of the numbers in 120 are off. I was required when I walked through the curriculum to validate all the numbers found within the degrees. But the ‘offness’ is probably attributed to human error in the course of disseminating the degrees. I know there is a lot in 120 that cannot be absolutely proven. But it hasn’t been beyond reasonable doubt been disproven either. Pluto is not a planet anymore, but it’s still out there at 3 billion 680 million miles from the Sun. But as I continue daily to exist I cee these degrees showing and proving themselves to be right and exact.

The equations in 120 work. But if you’re not mathematically inclined that’s a limitation that YOU have that you must put in the work to overcome. The Earth Does spin 1037 1/3 mph on it’s own axis. And the Earth is 93 million miles from the Sun. the other planetary calculations are true as well. T.H.E.M. had a 3rd grade education but managed, in 1933-4, to come up with these jewels. And you, with your education and degrees want to argue that this is a useless tradition? Then why have you come amongst us if you have no respect for 120.

I was at a parliament where everything got twisted and funky. A she-devil was the source of the discontent. The Culture degree of the 1-14 literally unfolded before my eyes. There were some new people there and I started quoting said degree under my breath as it unfolded. The visiting 7 heard me and laughed as he agreed.

Destroying him in 1 day without falling victim to the devil civilization refers to not literally some unknown Original alien (because they would be the only entities who qualify to have NEVER fallen victim to the devil civilization on this planet) force will kill all the white people in 1 day. No. But to come into the realization of you are and what your origin in this world (another degree) happens in one moment of one day. And you are forever changed.

Killing 4 devils does earn me a pin to wear on my lapel. Or perhaps a peaceful look on my countenance. Though I have literally earned a flag to wear on my lapel. And my free transportation to Mecca… or a place of peace happened too. Or maybe a free ride to the parliament when my car wasn't working to see my brothers? Is that literal enough? The colored man is current still 1:11 Original people. Still.

I could go on and on and on and on…. You could and I hope you do add on in the comments.

These examples may seem figurative, but they are only figurative until they become a reality in your life. That is the moment they become literal. Daily these degrees become more and more real to me. So I take offense when people want to slander them by saying it’s not real. When what they mean to say is it’s not real to them… yet. Keep living and studying your lessons. You will learn.

Peace
